Studio Policies

Welcome to my voice studio! In order for our working relationship to be mutually productive, please familiarize yourself with the following points. I look forward to working with you!

Payment Policies

Please come prepared to pay for each lesson on the day the lesson happens. I gladly accept payments in the form of cash, check, Venmo or PayPal. Late payments may result in postponement of lessons until the payment is made.

Scheduling and Cancellation

If a student is unable to attend a lesson, they should notify me at least 24 hours in advance, in order to receive a makeup lesson or credit. As a professional musician, my rehearsal/performance schedule requires some flexibility on your part. If I cancel a lesson, I will provide a makeup lesson or a credit in a timely manner.

Tardiness

Please arrive to your lesson on time. Many lessons are scheduled back-to-back, while other lessons are followed by a scheduled break time for me. If you are running late to your lesson, please notify me.

Practice Policy

Students are expected to practice regularly, in order to experience results and growth. I recommend at least 30 minutes a day for beginners, and more time as students become more advanced. Use a music journal to write down any questions, observations, and struggles to discuss at your next lesson.

Illness Policy

Please do not come to an in-person lesson if you are sick. It is not a good idea to bring germs into a space where many vocalists come to sing! When in doubt, cancel 24 hours in advance or move the lesson online that day.

Studio Classes

As developing vocalists it is so important to take every opportunity to perform. Studio classes are a great opportunity to practice performing your music in a low-pressure environment. I will hold a few studio classes throughout the year. These classes are offered at no additional charge to the student. I encourage students to come and perform a piece and also listen to others perform. This is a great way to learn outside of the usual private lesson format and connect with other singers. Studio classes are also a good time to bring in a friend who may be interested in lessons!
